At BOA you can design your own dress or select one of our many sample designs. The process for each varies so please take time to read the process you’re most interested in.

The beginning
At BOA we have between thirty five and forty sample designs of our own to try at the boutique. When trying on these gowns our designers Suzie and Isobel assist you by suggesting various options, getting creative with necklines and options that could enhance these samples to suit your personality, figure and desired features.
The decision
When you're ready to decide or you fall in love with one of our designs whether it be with customised changes or exactly as-is, your deposit is placed, measurements taken, mock-up fitting booked and view your sketch.
The mock-up
Six months before your wedding is your calico fitting - a mock-up version of your gown created from your measurements and customisations (if applicable). At this appointment, together we refine the fit, features, and fabrics, ready for construction.
The first look
Three months before your wedding, you will see your gown for the first time!
The pinning
Five weeks out is your "pinning fitting". We determine how much the gown will be taken in, the hem length based on your shoes, the bustle (for dancing!) and confirm your veil length (if applicable).
The check
Three weeks out from the wedding, You will try your gown on with all of the alterations completed, learn how to bustle the dress and check your hem length.
The collection
The week of your wedding! Try it on one last time, have it steamed, packaged and ready for your big day!

SO, you’ve tried on a few things already, seen a few stores and haven’t quite found the one, so you decide to design it with us!
The beginning
You visit us, we get creative together, do sketches, talk fabrics, features and the fit where we provide guidance, opinion and base price.
The research
You head to Tylers Fabrics in Richmond to choose some sample laces, providing us with a photo of the header and snap shot of the lace.
The refining
We borrow these fabrics from Tylers and have another appointment together, refine the design, choose which lace, quote you on the lace cost based on amount needed.
The decision
You say YES! Placing your deposit and pay in full for your desired lace, we order and collect the lace for you, take measurements and book you in for your mock-up fitting.
The mock-up
Six months before your wedding, is your calico fitting - this is a mock-up version of your gown created from your measurements and custom design, at this appointment together we refine the fit, features, and have your fabric at the boutique, using it to determine placement, taking photos for the work-room along the way.
