1. Payments
1.1. Payment in full is required prior to the collection of the gown.
1.2 A deposit of no less than $1000 is required at the time of taking measurement and placing the order. For gowns priced over $4000, the
deposit amount is $2000. At the mock-up/calico fitting another installment must be paid reducing the outstanding balance to $1000.
1.3. The remaining $1000 will be divided into four equal installments and must be paid at each subsequent fitting. If the client is based
interstate/internationally, the amount will be divided equally based on the number of fittings.
1.4. Additional payments can be made, however the minimum payments specified in clause 1.3 must be made at each fitting.
2. Refunds and Cancellations
2.1. The deposit is non-refundable, irrespective of the timing of cancellation.
2.2. If the cancellation occurs after the calico fitting, all payments made up to that point shall be forfeited.
2.3. If the cancellation occurs after the first fitting, all payments made up to that point shall be forfeited.
2.4. If the cancellation occurs after the second fitting, all payments made up to that point shall be forfeited.

outstanding payments are settled – or – see clause 2.7
2.7. In the event of a cancellation and the gown is not collected from Brides of Armadale within 24 months of the cancellation date, the
gown shall be deemed the property of Brides of Armadale, regardless of whether it has been paid in full or not. The client shall have no
authority over the gown and no refunds will be granted.
3. Rush Fee’s

4. Fittings and Alterations
4.1. Any design changes requested after the initial order date may incur a charge, which shall be determined by BOA depending on the
nature of the change.
4.2. Limited design changes can be made once the calico has been approved at the end of the calico appointment. Additional costs may be
incurred depending on the nature of the change, which shall be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
4.3. Any additional requirements such as additional beading, lace etc., will incur a charge.
4.4. Fittings shall be conducted on weekdays, except in cases where the client resides in rural Victoria, interstate or overseas. In such cases, a
Saturday fitting may be arranged upon request.
4.5. The final fitting appointment for the gown shall be scheduled five weeks prior to the wedding date. In the event of any further weight
loss necessitating in additional alterations after this fitting, an additional charge of $300 shall apply.
4.6. In the event of non-attendance at scheduled appointments and failure to respond to communication attempts, Brides of Armadale
shall not be held responsible for the tailoring and fit of the gown within four weeks of the wedding. If the client requests tailoring after the
missed appointment, additional charges will apply, and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
5. Important things to be aware of going forward
5.1 It is strongly advised that the bridal shoes are brought to the calico fitting to determine the hem length. If the client changes her
footwear without informing Brides of Armadale after them hemming has been completed, Brides of Armadale shall not be held
responsible for any discrepancy in the length of the gown. Any further alterations to the hemming will incur a charge.
5.2 The hem length cannot be extended if the shoe change is higher, only shortened. (See 5.1. if the gown has already been hemmed then
additional charges assessed by case to case will apply for a shoe height change.)
5.3. Our sample gowns are worn by many potential clients and over time their colour and quality may have deteriorated. The sample is not
directly comparable to a fresh made to measure gown.
5.4. As our gowns are all handmade and made to measure on the purchaser’s measurements (unless otherwise specified), there may be
discrepancies in lace placement from the sample gown due to difference in sizing. There may also be discrepancies in colour to the sample
gown as they are not mass produced and different dye batches in fabrics may vary slightly in colour tone.
5.5. As all gowns are handmade and made to measure, photos of the sample gown may not accurately represent the fit of the final dress.
6. Intellectual property
6.1. The guidance provided by the staff of Brides of Armadale to brides/clients is subject to the discretion of each individual client and may
not be relevant to every client. The client is solely responsible for deciding whether to take this advice. Following the order date,
Brides of Armadale personnel shall not be held accountable for any changes of mind on part of the client.
6.2. Brides of Armadale retain full ownership and intellectual property of all designs ordered through the boutique. Re-creation of these
gowns for future orders or as a sample design for the Brides of Armadale collection is within the rights of Brides of Armadale
6.3. Brides of Armadale reserves the right to refuse service for the following reasons – in the event of unreasonable or impossible requests,
abusive, aggressive or inappropriate behaviour, failure to comply with store policies, a breach of contract terms, or any requests that would
harm the BOA brand, reputation or artistic integrity.
7. Pregnancy
7.1. If the client falls pregnant after purchasing her gown and the wedding is within the first three months of the pregnancy then the same
gown may be tailored to fit – depending on both the gown, measurements and timeframe. (see 7.3)
7.2. If the client is rescheduling the wedding due to a pregnancy, the purchased gown will be placed on hold for a maximum of 24 months.
(See clause 2.3)
7.3. Brides of Armadale holds no responsibility for the inability to tailor a gown due to a pregnancy, as not all gowns can be fitted to a
pregnant body. If a corset back can be placed into the gown, additional charges will apply, possibility and price will be determined on a
case-to-case basis.
7.4. If the gown has not begun construction (any-time before the mock-up fitting) Brides of Armadale will work alongside with the client if
desired, to redesign their purchased gown to be one that allows for a pregnant physique (i.e. the skirt falling from the empire line).
Depending on the re-design, Brides of Armadale will determine if there are any additional charges on a case-to-case basis.
7.5. If the mock-up gown has already been made/fitted and/if the gown is partially or fully constructed, there will be additional charges for
re-designing and re-making a new gown and a second calico fitting.
8. Weight-Loss/Weight-Gain
8.1. If the client loses four or more inches in any physical circumference after the mock-up calico fitting, there will be an additional charge
of up to $1500 due to extreme tailoring and necessary re-shaping of the gown.
8.2. Brides of Armadale gowns have a 2-inch maximum seam allowance, so the dress can only be made larger by 1.5 inches maximum.
Where this case arises, the client will need to either swap the zip for a lace up corset back (at additional cost) OR purchase a new gown, in
full and including the applicable rush fees to create a gown in time for the wedding. (See 3. Rush fees)
